Tried to put Souther Still's "All These Streets" video onto DVD but as usual with video, having some problems.

The first problem stems from using Windows Movie Maker and the audio ticks and video stutters that it was causing. Part of the problem here might be the number and size of the videos I'm editing. It was too much work to take the video apart and put it back together in Premier so I'm stuck with it. To try and fix the audio problems, I've exported an uncompressed avi out of Movie Maker (NTSC format I think), and then imported into Premiere and put the audio on again. From there I can export out of Premiere and get a decent result - exported using Adobe MPEG exporter.

Finally I'm trying to compile it with Nero Vision Express. It seems an OK program and I can get the menus looking decent enough. I do get problems at the final burn stage. This time, it's seems to be transcoding the MPEG (why did it do that?) and also I've got interlacing artefacts when the final DVD is viewed on TV.

It's not surprising it's gone a bit pear shaped, having been imported and exported through a variety of programs. But in the end, I'm not convined Vision Express is the way to go.
